Portugal castle and its garden are available to the public every day from 09:00 to 17:00.
Tickets
Portugal castle is closed to the public since it was converted into a historic hotel in the 1950s. However, visitors are free to visit the gardens, terraces and belvedere in front of the entrance to the “Pousada” and the walls and courtyard of the “Cerca” behind the castle when there are no events taking place there. Therefore, tourists and everyone else do not need to buy Obidos Castle tickets.

How to get to Castelo de Obidos
To travel from Lisbon to Obidos Castle, there are several transportation options. If you prefer a bus trip, start at Lisbon Sete Rios bus station, where you can board Rede Expressos buses bound for the Oeste region or specifically Obidos. The journey usually takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the route and road conditions.
If you plan to reach by car, the best route involves using the A8 highway. Follow the A8 towards N114/N8 (Óbidos), taking exit 15. This will allow you to reach Óbidos Castle, enjoying the panoramic views and historical atmosphere of the place.
